Passion & Honey is a personal, emotional and gut-wrenching play that chronicles the passage of childhood friends through their adolescence to adulthood. It will take you down memory lane; where kids are playing double-dutch jump rope in the streets, and experiencing their first love and first heartbreak.

Passion & Honey features Candace Lawson, Leon Matthews and Ronnie Williams as they share their experiences of love sought, gained, lost and lament about Martin Luther King Jr.’s death, a beloved relative, and inter-racial relationships.

1979 Passion & Honey was first produced by Human I Theatre Company, 36 years ago at Community Arts Complex, downtown San Diego, co-produced by IARP and Community Actors Theatre in 2001; Manson received the 2001 Associate Community Theatre’s Audrey Award for Best Direction of a Drama and Best Cast Ensemble in a Drama for Passion & Honey. Manson also won 1st Place in Negro Ensemble Company’s Poetry Contest for Passion & Honey in 2002. In 2004 Passion & Honey was revised & performed at Caesar Café’ and at performed and 2006 at Acoustic Expression in North Park.
